While Navigators already had a solid online donation process in place, they needed their website to only process one-off donations, with their CRM handling recurring gifts. They also wanted to set up a process which would allow their donors to manage their existing recurring donations.
We started by modifying their existing online donations to process all amounts as one-off, and extended the existing integration with their CRM to pass the necessary information so that the CRM could manage recurring payments.
We then further extended the CRM integration to allow donors to edit their recurring donations, including which staff member(s) they are supporting and how much they give. Security was of course of the utmost concern here, so this build also included integration with an external SMS provider, so that donors are required to confirm their identity via a one-time code sent to their mobile before being able to see or update any sensitive information.
