ECM Australia found that they were spending a significant amount of time on basic donor administration – particularly updating contact details, recording updated communication preferences and updating or cancelling recurring gifts. To resolve this they asked Spark to create an online portal to bring their payment systems and CRM together to allow their supporters to “self-serve” these updates.
The end result is “My ECM Portal” – a simple, user-friendly site where ECM supporters can create an account and log in to manage their recurring giving, contact details and communication preferences.
Security and privacy are of course paramount in any system of this type and formed the basis of many of the architectural decisions. All accounts are protected by Two Factor Authentication (2FA), and donor data is always retrieved and displayed directly from the CRM and payment system rather than being stored within the portal itself.
